- Mega Hardware Platform for Manifold
I'm planning to acquire a workstation to process some very very large vector polygon datasets. I want the machine to be able to host a spatially enabled RDBMS and Manifold together. I'm assuming that keeping everything on the local machine will offer the best possible performance.
Have a look at the specs for the machine at the following web address:
The machine comes with 96GB of RAM and the maximum that can be installed is 192GB which is the maximum that Win7 64Bit Ultimate can use at once.
Would Manifold be able use all of the available cores (not already used by the OS and the RDBMS) at once for vector overlay processing or would this machine be overkill for that sort of application?
