I am looking for a way to transfer/copy the views in one map in one .map file to another map in a different .map file.

I found an older post (http://www.georeference.org/forum/t78285) in which someone wrote a script to copy views form one map to another in the same .map file and wonder if it can be modified to work for my application.

The two maps have the same coordinate systems and extents.

Thanks in advance.

I have added an extra tabpage to my toolbox that enables you to save and load views from drawings and map components. This way you can easily copy them from one file to another.

Unzip the files in the config directory in a folder named TBFTools and the add-in is ready for use. If the pane is white, check your version of the .NET framework (should be 3.5 of higher I believe).

Chris:

Thanks for the add-in.

I just had a chance to try it out in a project and the views exported fine, and the names imported correctly, but they do not "jump" to the right place in the map I imported them into.

Any ideas? Is there a projection/coordinate system issue? The map components are both in UTM 18 N.

Thanks for your thoughts.

The first that comes to my mind is that the two projections are different. But that is not the case since you say they are both in UTM 18 N.

Anybody else some suggestions?

applied the famous TBF tools.. et voilà!

that is the spirit that keeps Manifold alive!
